Following the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 1520 with a 1080p display, the team behind SophieLens has updated/replaced SophieLens Pro to SophieLens HD, and are making all the image filter packs free to download for a short period. Throw in the ability to save original images at high resolution, a simplified UI, and front camera support, this is improvement to an already impressive in-camera FX app.

SophieLens brings you the traditional ability to apply filters to your pictures, but rather than do it at the post-production level, SophieLens does it 'in camera' while you take your pictures. It's not suitable for quick bursts of inspiration, but if you have time to take in a scene, compose the elements, and get everything tweaked in the software, you can achieve some stunning results.

The inclusion of the filters for free is a nice touch, giving people a chance to experience the full range of effects. While the professional may turn away from the idea of filters, there's a huge pool of users happy to employ them.
