Hidden object games sound a little trivial on a small phone screen, but the more sophisticated tites ratchet up the puzzle factor with things you have to move, use in specific sequences, keep until needed, and then mini-games on top. Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix is in the latter camp and offers a sophisticated playing environment.

Mercifully free of in-app-purchases, i.e. you only pay once, here's the game in action:
Very polished from the outset, with original artwork.
There's a cinematic intro sequence that goes on for several minutes, voiced by a professional. Very nicely done, and with a handy 'Skip' button for the future...
Plenty of customisation in terms of gameplay difficulty and media too - you really can make this as easy or hard as you like - though, of course, once you've played right through then you'll know most of the tricks. So next time - play with slow hints and no sparkles?!
The hint system is excellent and also serves as a tutorial section when getting going for the first time....
It's more than just tap, tap, tap though, you have to think about what you're interacting with and what you want to do with it!
One of the mini-games, which - curiously - didn't work properly on my Lumia 930. Very odd. Must be a glitch in the Matrix!
At any point you can review the goals for the current location. This should help you stay on track.
The music in particular is gorgeous - I'd love to know if it's separately available. And it's matched by some terrific atmospheric visuals throughout, as you can probably tell from the screenshots here.
You can buy this in the Store here. Commercial at £3 in the UK, but you do get to play it on a Windows 8.x/10.x PC too, and there's hours of puzzling fun.
