Evernote, a suite of software and services designed for note recording and archiving infomation, has released version 2.1 of its app for Windows Phone. The new version allows you to pin almost anything (notes, tags, notebooks, searches) to the home screen, introduces the concept of template notes (pre-formatted notes) and improves text editing.

Also new is support for additional languages (Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, and Polish), background sync support, integration into Windows Phone search (swipe across to see results from Evernote) and support for sharing notes via social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Windows Live).

The tag line of the Evernote service, which currently has more than 11 million users, is 'remember everything'. Evernote allows you to capture notes and information (e.g. clip web pages, photos, text notes, documents and more) and then access then from anywhere (web, PC, mobile). A powerful search function allows you to quickly retrieve information, including support for recognising text (printed and hand written) in uploaded documents and images. More information is available on the Evernote website.

Evernote for Windows Phone can be downloaded from the Marketplace for free. More information on the new version is available on the Evernote blog.
