"Why Windows?" answered through the medium of cartoons

Two "loving Windows Phone" flow posts in a row? I can't help it, Trevor LaForce's post on why he loves Windows Phone is one of the best illustrated posts I have seen in a long time - not just on smartphone tech, but any post critiquing a subject. His starting point is that Windows Phone is the evolution that gets back to what Windows was all about in the first place, back in the early eighties.

It took me a while to figure out why I love Windows Phone as much as I do, and why I’m so excited about Windows 8. And it goes back to Windows itself, and the philosophy behind its naming in the early days of home computing.

Trevor LaForce, Why Windows?

I won't spoil the surprise of discovery, but his first cartoon (of a modern day user with their fingers in their ears) leads into a wonderful story of Windows Phones, beige, doors, stylised Android corridors, and some curtains.

Go read it. Now.
