Puzzle game Rummycomb updated with Christmas theme

Published by at

Rummycomb, developed by Leda Entertainment, has been updated to version 1.2. The updates adds a Christmas theme and also resolves a start-up issue with synchronising high score tables. Rummycomb is a tile-matching puzzle game, with the set and run rules from the card game Rummy. It's played over a hexagonal grid in three different grid modes, with an aim of scoring as many points as possible.

Rummycomb's three game modes each offer a different challenge:

  • Challenge: You start the game with a full board and 1 minute on the clock.

  • Endurance: You start the game with a partial board, and new tokens drop into play - slowly at first, but progressively faster. Drag tokens into empty columns to help match them up.

  • Survival: You start the game with a full board and 30 seconds on the clock. As you clear tokens, the timer extends.

The game has been well executed with attractive graphics, decent sound effects and addictive game-play. The addition of the Rummy style set and run rules adds a unique twist to what is otherwise a well known style of game play. If you're a fan of the tile puzzle game genre Rummycomb is definitely a recommend download.

Rummycomb, which is advertising supported, can be download, for free, from the Windows Phone Marketplace

Description

Inspired by games such as Bejeweled and Tetris, and adding the set and run rules from the classic card game, Rummycomb is an addictive token-matching puzzler with the Leda twist. Played over a hexagonal rather than square grid, allowing for more ways of linking the tokens. You can match tokens based on colour or on suit – or even both – in a run. What’s more, you can continue to select lines of connected tokens of any length, even changing direction, to build up huge sets that then explode in dramatic fashion.
