They always say follow the money so how's this for a road map? FourBros studio''s mini-game collection of puzzles, Taptitude, has passed 100,000 downloads from the Marketplace, and has earned "close to six figures" through in-app advertising.

Quite frankly, we need more stories like this, every day if possible, and they need to be given huge traction by Microsoft and the hardware partners. Yes, developers want nice tools, people to answer questions, and hope that more of the device functionality will be opened up them. But right at the base of Maslow's triangle of developer needs is a simple one. Money.

Windows Phone needs an air of being a successful place in terms of income, be it through in-app advertising or sales in Windows Marketplace. Those can be there even in a sotre with 50,000 applications, and a platform with a reasonable number of handsets out there right now.
