First up, the official Windows Phone Blog on the 4.7 inch screened LTE handset:
It sports the biggest touchscreen of any Windows Phone (4.7-inch WVGA). It also—and this one frankly blows me away—comes with a whopping 16-megapixel rear camera. For perspective, that’s double what you find on most smartphones, and it makes the Titan II one of the most potent pocket-size cameras, period.
There's no word on the sensor size, or any other optical hardware details beyond the lens specification (which is a 28mm f2.6). Engadget did pick up on some of the more mainstream specs:
...we now know it's packing a 1.5GHz Snapdragon (single-core, of course) and a 1,730mAh battery pack. The latter necessary to keep that huge 4.7-inch display and power-sucking 4G radio humming as long as possible. One more photo after the break.
WP Central goes on a hunt to see if LTE can be switched on and off, and the answer appears to be no.
The phone will use LTE when it can and switch to 3G/HSPA+ when it can't. In keeping with the "simple" motif of Windows Phone, the user will not have to manage this
And finally for this collection, British publication T3 points out the availability of the Titan 2 is limited to the US:
Boasting some serious overhauls in relation to the original UK HTC Titan (yes, sadly the Titan II is not for us mere UK mortals), the Titan II will most prominently of all, feature a 4G radio. That means blazing fast internet and stress-free streaming for those lucky Yanks who fancy getting their hands on one.
This might be the one interesting choice made by HTC - by going for Titan 2 it pegs the original Titan as "yesterday's phone", where going with a letter approach, such as the HTC Titan L, could have differentiated this for the US market without branding the first Titan as.... old.
