Bug Village, Microsoft's latest free game in the Xbox Live stable, takes a very modern business model to earn its keep, and the gameplay is so radically different (and slow) compared to anything else in the Marketplace that I can't wait to see the reaction and reviews to the first "Freemium" game in the XBLA collection.

In Bug Village you are tasked to manage (and grow) a community of ants and bees, helping them gather raw materials to earn acorns, which you can then spend on supplies, buildings, and more items that will generate the material.

The twist is that the game runs in real time (even when you have switched to another task, when you return the clock is checked and the world is brought up to date), for example you can either wait two hours for your ants to finish a collection task, or pay some gold coins to have them do it instantly... gold coins which cost real money to buy and provide developers Glu with an income stream.
