"30 to Launch" is Launched by Microsoft

Microsoft's "30 to Launch" program is now live, and aims to help developers go from idea and concept to a live application in the marketplace in just thirty day.  As well as providing a schedule and support to keep you on track, the syllabus quickly brings in the unique ideas of Windows Phone design, including deep linking into an application and integrating into the core hub applications.

With great devices hitting the market and the broadly acclaimed user interface based on Metro design principles, Windows Phone is setting the new cool for mobile computing. Take advantage of the excitement and create a cutting edge application - fast. Really fast. 30 days fast.

The other area in the program is the prizes on offer - as well as the opportunity to register on AppHub for free (normally $99) and the money you make from selling your applications in the marketplace, four participants will walk away with "state of the art entertainment packages, including 3D TV... and Xbox Kinect."

30 to Launch

While the competition is only open to US residents, it's another initiative to get developers looking and considering Windows Phone as a platform. The subtle nod towards the speed of development is also something that Microsoft will want people to take note of.

Hat tip to Windows Phone Thoughts.
