Wordament looks to be joining Xbox Live with the latest releases

WP Central have some titles that could be the next batch of Xbox Live games following the current promotional run under the "Must Have" banners. It's a good mix of titles, and also sees the promotion of Wordament from Marketplace indie hit into the Xbox Live category.

Paul Acevedo lists six new titles:

  • Carcassonne
Popular german board game is ported from Blackberry and Android to Windows Phone.
  • GeoDefence Swarm
Tower Defense genre game, sequel to GeoDefence, now on a hex grid instead of regular squares.
  • Gerbil Physics
It's angry birds, but with rodents instead of avians, a canon instead of a catapult, and we'll see how different it really is in the near future.
  • Pinball FX2
Port of the Xbox Live Arcade pinball game, likely with multiple pinball tables (that may be purchased separately?)
  • Shoot1UP
Traditional looking vertical scrolling arcade shooter.
  • Wordament
The popular internet challenge based word game moves to Xbox Live.

Personally I'm looking forward to Cacassonne, mostly on it's strength as a regular board game (for some reason the German temperament leads to some fascinating games) but the main thing that I'm enjoying is that Microsoft appear to be committed to their regular weekly schedule of releases on Xbox Live. It might make it tough for other leisure titles to get noticed on that day, but for the end user, knowing there's a new high quality game very week is a very big step that helps build trust and anticipation. Long may it continue.
