TechRadar appears to have went to MWC with the sole purpose of making sure the current Windows Phone handset manufacturers are all going to be releasing Windows Phone 8 devices. After chcking in with Acer, they're now reporting that Samsung will also be joining the party before the end of 2012.

Speaking to Gareth Beavis, Samsung's Head of Product Management Matt Brum was confident:

We're very much still focusing on Windows, and still have products in that area. We're committed to delivering their products going forward. There will be more products, and the key thing for us is making sure we hit the right price points and segments for our customers... [Windows Phone 8] is coming at the end of the year, and will increase the capability of the platform, and Samsung is looking to optimise its devices on that.

Given Samsung have a strong Android presence, this is comforting to hear. What's of more interest, at least to me, is the possibilities that Samsung will bring to Windows 8 as a whole. They have a strong laptop presence, and with Windows 8 also giving strong Tablet support, Samsung could be looking at a rather holistic approach to Windows 8.

Or they could just give throw Windows Phone 8 into a similar chassis as the Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Time wil tell!
