Landscape support and image viewer updates in Baconit v1.8

The popular Digg client Reddit (reviewed here) has been updated to version 1.8. Of note is the new image viewer for pictures found in the subreddit categories, which includes pinch to zoom, endless image scrolling, and saving the images to your smartphone. Support fir landscape orientation has been improved.

Developer Quinn Damerell gave us a copy of the change log for v1.8:

  • Added Image viewer
    • Endless image scrolling
    • Full screen image viewing
    • Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, double tap to rest
    • Save Images to phone
    • Landscape or portrait
    • Image from subreddit now open in to the viewer
  • Added landscape support for the subreddit viewer, the web viewer, submit a link, and the comments viewer.
  • Replaced the story up vote and down vote count with the domain of the link
  • Added lock orientation option.
  • Added comment tracking, the story view will show a number of new comments for stories that have been previously viewed.
  • Pinned subreddits now go back to the main page when you press back
  • Fixed so long self-posts and comments don’t get cut off.
  • Improved web browser reliability and back functionality
  • Added subreddit posted to in /all
  • Up and down vote arrows are now drawn instead of images, so accent colors match
  • Also improved the hit box sizes for all up and down vote arrows, making them much easier to press
  • Improved Image gathering algorithm for live tiles to accept more websites.
  • Bugs
    • Fixed problem where wrong story would be shown from smart bar, submit link and message inbox
    • Fixed message inbox to make message loading more reliable and quicker
    • Long self-text and comments don’t get cut off any longer
    • Fixed bug where the messages would show as unread on the website when all are read

It's always nice to see the continued support an application receives when the positive feedback of user requests and suggestions is acted on by the developer, which leads to more suggestions!

Also of note for Reddit fans is the subreddit r/wp7 is being rolled into the r/windowsphone subreddit, so any bookmarks or links may need to be edited!
