Eventbrite client Metrobrite makes events easier

Published by at

Metrobrite is an Eventbrite client for Windows Phone that can be used by both event organisers and event attendees. The app lets you log-in to your account and shows you all your upcoming events, along with information on tickets, timing and location. You can also search for new events by location, date and keyword. Event organisers can use the app to set up a new event and manage tickets, orders, attendees and venues.

Eventbrite is a popular web service that makes it easy to set up, plan, promote and sell tickets for any type of event. It also aims to enable potential attendees to easily find events they may be interested in, purchase tickets and receive reminders or suggestions about upcoming events. There's a lot of events using Eventbrite, ranging from WPUG  (a monthly event aimed at UK based Windows Phone Developers) to the UK's biggest Hip Hop gig.

On opening Metrobrite the home panorama has pages for my events (events you've set up), my orders (events you're attending), events (nearby events), and map (showing location of nearby events). The search page, accessible from the events page, let you look for an event by keyword (name), date and location, with optional filters for category and distance from your current location.

Tapping on an event on any of the open panorama pages takes you to a secondary panorama with more information about that event.

For events you've not yet signed up for (events page) there's a details page, with an event overview and description; a tickets page, showing pricing and availability information; a register page, where you can sign up for an event and buy tickets; a where page, showing the location venue; a hosted by page, showing details of the event organiser; and a qr code page.

For events you've already signed up to (my order page) there's a ticket page with summary details of the event, plus a where page showing the event venue's location. Full event information, as described above, can be accessed via the lightning (event) button on toolbar and there are also option for navigating to the event (via a deep link to Bing Maps) and sharing event information with your friends via social networks.

Rtaher impressively it's also possible to set up a new event from within the application. You can set all the necessary information about date, time, venue, ticket number and pricing, description and more. Metrobrite can then be used to manage the event, keeping track of attendees, how many tickets have been sold and so on.

In future releases the developer is planning to add additional features including pinning events to start screen; live tile notification; OAuth2 authentication; support for discounts, invitations and contact lists; and integration of attendees, invites and contacts with phone contacts. Also, in testing phase are attendee check-in, bar code scanning and live synchronization features, which aim to make it easier for organizers to manage events on the day of event.

Metrobrite has been beautifully implemented, with a clear Metro UI and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into the layout and flow of the application. As a result it is easy to use and is the perfect companion for anyone setting up or attending an event enabled my Eventbrite. Highly recommended.
