Weathbug v2.0 brings in live tile support and push weather alerts

Published by at

Now in its second major version, Weatherbug brings live tile support and 'bad weather' alerts to the popular weather application. Forecast applications are popular apps inside the Windows Marketplace, which means it's very easy to try out a handful of them and find your favourite. Weatherbug is one choice of many, but it has some nice graphics and the name recognition will certainly help build adoption.

From the directory listing, here's the new features list:

  • Live Tiles - New standard live tile and Live Cam views. We've also added detailed one-day forecast and two-day summary forecast secondary tile options.
  • Visual Forecasts - Easy-to-read, at-a-glance displays of essential weather information you need quickly and easily.
  • Bad Weather Warnings & Alerts - Receive dangerous weather alerts faster from both the National Weather Service and our exclusive WeatherBug Network.
  • Live Cams - Scroll through and view live shots from HD cameras in the WeatherBug Network.

Weatherbug is free, albeit ad-supported. That might be enough to have some people move on to another weather app, but Weatherbug has some very detailed numbers and stats available. If that's your thing then this is probably going to be close to the top of your list... and eventually close to the top of your live tile stack!
