Carphone Warehouse's Myths and Facts about Windows Phone

Published by at

UK high street retailer The Carphone Warehouse, along with a rather nice deal on the Nokia Lumia 710 (£130 for the handset on pay as you go), has an interesting article where they talk about the myths that have built up around Windows Phone, and the reality of the situation - which most of the time is in direct contrast with the myth.

What's interesting is how pro-active this approach is. While it's not screaming out on every Windows Phone page at Carphone Warehouse's online store, it is linked in the description for everyone to follow through. Of course this is the same sort of technique as you would see on the sales floor (chat to customer, find the issue that's stopping them buying, solve that issue, repeat if necessary), but it's a technique you use when you really want to sell a certain product, and not just have them browse around.

Being on the web a lot of the answers need to be pre-emptive, but you can be sure that similar questions are being asked on the shop floor ("There aren't any free apps" is an interesting one). What I do read into this is a need for some general education on Windows Phone itself, and not just the handsets... which really should be undertaken, in my opinion, by Microsoft themselves.
