Online travel site Hotels.com have launched a Windows Phone application to let users browse, reserve, book, and confirm accommodation around the world. Backed by Expedia, Hotels.com notes that almost 60% of their bookings are made on a 'same-day' basis, so having the ability to do this from a location aware smartphone is a sensible thing to do.

As well as their extensive and long-running loyalty program Hotels.com points out their favourite features of the app:

• Introducing ‘Tonight’s Local Deals’, an exclusive new feature which provides special daily deals, only available to Hotels.com mobile users.
• Find and securely book 140,000+ hotels throughout 200 countries. 
• Access more than 20,000 last minute deals. 
• Search for hotels close to where you are as well as searching using an interactive map. 
• Sort and filter using the Hotels.com powerful search tools.

We'd be interested in how well this application works in the real world - I'm the sort of traveller who books well in advance, and rarely need to find something in a hurry, but it looks like it should work well.
