Feed Me Oil seeps out as this week's Xbox Live title

This week's Xbox Live title is a nasty little puzzle game called Feed Me Oil. I say nasty because it is complicated, frustrating, challenging, and wonderful all in the same breath. With harsh cartoon graphics, overtones of an ecological disaster, and some fantastically fluid game play, it's worth checking out.

Feed Me Oil

A few interesting things to point out here. This is a Chillingo title, but it's being published under the parent company's brand (namely Electronic Arts), and it's one of the first Xbox Live titles to debut at the lowest application price in the Windows Marketplace, 99 cents / 79p. The former is to be expected, as Electronic Arts leverage their purchase of publisher Chillingo, the later is going to be watched very carefully by the Xbox Live team, and indie developers. Up until now Xbox Live titles have stayed out of the lower tiers (except for special offers and deals). How effective the lower price will be is going to be and what effect it has on the marketplace is going to be something everyone is interested in.

Feed Me Oil

The game itself is easy to describe - you can start oil flowing from the end of a broken pipeline, high above the landscape, and you need to guide the flow of the oil into the mouths of the creatures buried in the ground. Naturally there are obstacles in the way, and you have a few platforms, bridges, and tools that can help change the flow of the oil. But can you work out how to use these in the most efficient manner?
