Following on from their launch late last year, Windows Phone Parent has been building on their mission statement of 'Helping Parents Discover Amazing Windows Phone Apps.' Now they've released their own application, to help parents find suitable family friendly applications in the Windows Marketplace.

As the Windows Marketplace continues to grow, the process of discovering applications becomes more relevant to every user of Windows Phone. Windows Phone Parent has taken up the challenge with a specific goal, and as market share grows along with the Marketplace, this will be a very useful tool.

The Windows Phone ecosystem already has a number of controls in place to help parents (Jack Fitzgerald talks about some of them here on the Windows Phone Official Blog) but it's always good to see developers and contributors to the platform taking possession of an issue and developing a good solution. Their website started that process, now the Windows Phone Parent app takes it closer to the point of contact.
