Now would be a great time for you to have another look at Rene Schulte's Pictures Lab. As well as a minor update to keep the code ticking over, the image processing application also comes with a lower price - it's down to 99p/99 cents in the Marketplace.

Pictures Lab has a huge range of filters and borders for you to apply to images on your handset - typically those that you've taken with your camera. For someone like me, who never quite manages to get a photo looking right, this post processing app is great to make my images more striking when shared on my social networks through the application. Of course the original image is left untouched on the handset.

One thing that is missing from this version is a nice border for the Olympics. Schulte has always added in seasonal borders throughout the life of the application, but in his words "I had the idea to add an Olympics border to Pictures Lab but the IOC protects all marks and loves to sue people. Sigh."

Still, Pictures Lab was always great value and professionally put together and supported - with this price drop and the holidays on the way for many of us, it's very much recommended.
