Sci-Fi and Fantasy news on the go with Blastr (US only)

Published by at

Blastr, a sister site to the SyFy channel website, has a just released app in the Windows Phone Marketplace, which brings the latest Sci-Fi and Fantasy news headlines to your smartphone. The app caught our eye because it has been published by a major US broadcaster (NBC Universal Media), but do note that it s currently only available in the US.

The app's opening panorama is divided into latest news (recent headlines), videos (video news stories), images (gallery based news stories) and sections (browse content by category). Each piece of content gets its own panorama with pages for the article and comments. Articles can be saved as favourites for offline viewing, pinned to the start screen, and shared with friends via social media.

Blastr.com's content won't be to everyone taste, but it does provide a decent overview of main stream Sci-Fi and Fantasy (e.g. coverage of the recent Comic-Con) and the mobile app is a handy way to get your daily fix of news and views.
