Nokia and ESPN are ready for the Olympics

Along with last night's slighty bonkers (but very British) Opening Ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games, ESPN's Windows Phone application picked up a small update to cope with the oncoming rush of sports news out of the capital city. The Games now have their own section inside the sports news application.

The new section has been given pride of place at the top of the sports picker. 'London 2012' will give you the news headlines, highlights from ESPN's social media presences on Twitter and Facebook, and the current standings in the medal table.

It can also be pinned as a live tile to your start screen, in the same way as other sports categories, giving you fast access to the latest Olympic stories.

The ESPN app is still exclusive to Nokia's Windows Phone handsets, but if you're rocking a Lumia, you can find ESPN in the AAWP App Directory, or in the Nokia Collection section of the Windows Marketplace on your handset.
