An update to version 1.3 of Skype for Windows Phone 7 is currently being rolling out. There's no official changelog to the update, but an examination of the new version has revealed no new features - which leaves a maintenance release with bug fixes as the probable content. Indeed, in testing version 1.3 we have observed stability improvements. 

For example, we have found that when trying to load several days of a backlog of chat updates, the Windows Phone 7.5 Skype client would consistently crash. Not so with this new version!
