Condé Nast's Glamour app delivers celebrity gossip

Published by at

Glamour, a monthly celebrity gossip and fashion magazine, with a circulation of around 2.4 million (US), now has its own Windows Phone app. Drawing on content from the magazine and Glamour website, it delivers a stream of constantly updated celebrity news, fashion, and photos to your phone.

The opening panorama of the Windows Phone app is divided into sections, similar to those found in the magazine. There are pages for "celebrity news", "dos and donts" (fashion commentary), and twitter (curated tweets). Each section has a number of articles, each of which gets its own page, with headline, photo, accompanying text, related headlines and sharing options.

The amount of content and the overall quality of the Glamour app is relatively modest, but it's interesting to see Condé Nast starting to support Windows Phone. A key part of Condé Nast's digital strategy has been providing high quality apps for iOS and Android, and adding Windows Phone to the mix can only provide a boost to what Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop, describes as the "third mobile ecosystem".
