A collection of colour-filtered thumbnail image tiles, accompanied by summary information for each deal, creates a clear and visually appealing way of seeing, at a glance, the latest offers from the aforementioned daily deal websites. Each of the Deal Flux's sources gets its own page in the opening panorama, with multiple offers (tiles) shown for each source (one per category).
Tapping on an offer tile opens a pivot view for that offer, with a product page (large image, pricing and buy now button), a detail page (extended text description), and a related page (similar deals). The pivot view has a background colour that matches the filter colour used on the offers tile in the main panorama, lending a neat sense of visual consistency.
Tapping on the 'buy now' button on the product page opens Internet Explorer, taking you to a web address for that offer (usually the order page).
Deal Flux's settings let you specify which sources (and which categories) of deals to show in the main app. You can also opt to have deals from specified categories show up on the app's Live Tile (be default these are all switched to off).
Deal Flux was recently updated to version 1.2. The new version added a number of new deal sources, improved the background graphics and user interface, and added support for sharing deals via social media.
Deal Flux opens your senses to a wonderful one deal a day experience. Featuring the biggest names in one deal a day sites, Deal Flux brings you a revolution in app technology: be mystified by the colored tiles, allured with the one of a kind design, and marvel at the speed of the app. The best of one deal a day products in one location, exclusive for Windows Phone.
Deal Flux can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace. It's available globally, but the deals it aggregates really only apply to the US. However, for those interested in developing Windows Phone apps, it is well worth a look as an example of app design that draws inspiration from the standard Windows Phone design patterns, but also manages to create a distinctive visual look and feel.
