When you first start AppoinTile it walks you through the creation of two new Live Tiles, which are intended to be placed side-by-side of the Start Screen.
The left-hand tile displays information about the day (or time until) and the location of the meeting; the right-hand tile shows information about the meeting title and duration. Combined these provide a at-a-glance view of up to four upcoming meetings. This contrasts with the standard Calendar Live Tile which only displays information about a single upcoming meeting.
Tapping in an AppoinTile Live Tile opens up a screen listing upcoming appointments, and tapping on an appointment opens up the meeting assistant screen. The meeting assistant screen provides a complete view of meeting information, with a handy visual indication of meeting timing, and links (to send emails to attendees, to get directions, and send "running late" messages).
The new features in version 1.8 extend AppoinTile beyond its original purpose as a replacement for the standard Calendar app Live Tile, making it even more useful for those who make heavy use of the calendar functionality of Windows Phone. It now provides a complete experience for viewing upcoming meetings that is superior to that provided by the built in Calendar app.
This tile-app allows you to replace the standard calendar tile with a pair of tiles designed to give you much more information about your upcoming agenda. How? By being able to outlook up to 4 upcoming appointments maximizing that precious space on your start screen filling it up with more valuable agenda information.
But not only that, it works also as a meeting assistant giving you handy information about your current meeting, with features such as in-meeting reminders, running late, email attendees, get directions, dial conf number, etc.
AppoinTile can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace, a free tial is available and the full app costs £1.99 / $2.99 / €2.99
