Color Flow brings spatial puzzling to your Windows Phone

Published by at

It's always nice to come across a puzzle game that has some strategy involved, an easy control system, and a random puzzle generator (as opposed to a small number of intricately designed levels). If that sounds like the sort of title you'd like, then you need to take a look at Color Flow.

From the app listing:

The goal is to fill the entire board with a single color in the minimum number of steps. Start with the top left corner block of the board and change its color using the colored buttons at the bottom of the screen. When you change the color of the current area, every adjacent block with the same color also changes. Game ends when the entire board is filled with a single color.

Color Flow is fast to play, and keeps track of your wins at each skill level. I also like that even with the densely packed grid, because the interaction is with the colour swatches at the bottom of the screen and not in the game grid itself. There's no need to worry about the lack of accuracy from fat fingers trying to find a delicate game square to change colour.

Perhaps the only addition I would like to see is the ability to replay a grid, especially if I've not managed to complete it in the specified number of moves. Still, that's a small niggle, and not enough to spoil my frustrated fun.
