Reddit client baconit updated to v2.4

Published by at

The popular unofficial client for Reddit, Quinn Damerell's Baconit, has been updated to version 2.4. The major change is an update to the system to manage the subreddits (the sub-topics in Reddit), although Damerell has addressed a number of smaller issues as well.

Here's the full change list from the Baconit website.

  • Annoying pop-up tips replaced with toast messages so they are not so disturbing if you don’t want them.
  • Brand new Subreddit manager.
    • Subreddit list is more reliable.
    • New improved UI.
    • More subreddit information.
    • Subreddit discovery.
    • “view subreddit” in add subreddit screen so you can preview before you add.
  • Attempt to fix baconit clearing settings and updater errors.
  • Attempt to fix memory problems in flip view and the crashes they cause.

There are a few issues with the 'free' version of the application - it's currently failed certification because of a few adult subreddits that can be accessed. Damerell is working to get the donation/paid version into the Windows Store, and you can follow all the fun over on the /r/Baconit Reddit thread.

As always, the update will be offered to you in Windows Marketplace, or you can download a copy of the app from the AAWP App Directory.
