Here's Windows Phone 8 running on the Samsung ATIV S

Reddit user Lariato picked up some rare hands on time with a Windows Phone 8 device at a recent Samsung event in South Africa, and snapped some pictures of the device running the new OS from Microsoft. And he's posted the images online.

The majority of the screens captured look at the settings and dialog screens of the core applications, specifically around new features on the handset and in Windows Phone 8. The Ativ S is one of the new handsets that offer SD card support, as shown here. The ease of access settings screen now offers a number of new choices, including magnification and variable text sizes.

The wallet hub has already been mentioned by Microsoft in their summer event, so these screens are confirmation of some of the abilities and functions available in the app, as well as the Tap and Send options for NFC.

Finally the Maps application confirms the ability to download mapping data, and the new Xbox Music Pass is trailed in the music and video hub (along with the delightful note that you can add 'stuff' from your computer).

What grabs your attention out of all that, or indeed from all of Lariato's pictures on Imgur?
