Draw Something has already been a hit on other platforms, with the triple combination of social game play, a turn based style, and social integration drawing in audiences and giving the game a viral-like distribution mechanism. Draw Something is not as popular as it was at its peak earlier this year, and while there are still hundreds of thousands of people playing the game, its hard not to feel that Zynga (and Nokia) have missed the boast with this port.
The Windows Phone version of Draw Something is a too faithful port of the iOS version. Almost no effort has gone into making it feeling like a native resident of the Windows Phone platform, which feels like a missed opportunity, and has a negative impact on the overall experience of the game.
The Nokia exclusive nature of the game will undoubtedly annoy some users, but it's a reflection of the money the company is continuing to invest into Windows Phone apps. This is something that is likely to become an increasingly common occurrence as handset manufacturers looks for ways to make their devices stand out.
