AppSwitch is an interesting service fo people new to the Windows Phone platform. Put together by Southampton based Plug and Play Design, the directory service allows you to find apps from the iOS and Android platforms, and presents you with the equivalent Windows Phone app.

The goal of the app is clear

Have you recently moved to a Windows Phone device but can't find your favorite apps? Use AppSwitch to find Windows Phone replacements for all of your favorite apps on Google Android or Apple iOS. Browse latest, popular and top rated matches or search for your favorite app and see if it's available. Don't worry if it's not as you might find an even better app!

The directory of matches has been built up by hand, so it's not yet comprehensive, and there are gaps (for example a search for 'Siri' brings up no results, when anyone who's played around with 'Ask Ziggy') so it's best not to rely completely on the service, but it's a nice little addition to check out either through the free app download in the Windows Store (and the AAWP App Directory), or on the AppSwitch website.

It's free to use to search for matches,  but if you are a developer looking to use the service, there is a small charge.
