Flashlight 7 picks up a small update

Published by at

Not every handset comes with a 'flashlight' application to use the LED camera flash as a source of light, and it's proven to be a nice little niche for programmers to explore. My app of choice is Flashlight 7, and it has picked up an update to improve the UI and the LED control.

Along with the recent addition in v4.0 to tweak the initial screen, the new update of v4.4 has altered the handling of the camera LED to reduce the flicker that some handsets were experiencing.

Besides the core functionality of with the LED lighting up, Flashlight 7 also offers a number of screen-savers and splash screens that work well in dark places, with a swipe action to turn up or down the brightness on the smartphone screen, shifting colours to help reflect your mood, and an option to flash 'SOS' in an emergency.

Flashlight 7 does what you need it to do, and a little bit more on top of that. You can download a copy of this utility from the AAWP app directory.
