Wordpress quickly updates client to v1.8

Published by at

Just one month after the 1.7 release, the official Wordpress client for Windows Phone has received an update to v1.8. We're still waiting for an official change log, but from a quick look through the app, this version appears to have focused on the user interface.

The live tile esque menu screen on each blog's panorama view has been rationalised, the tiny button for 'blog stats' promoted as a regular button, the layout and fonts are now more in line with the Windows Design Language, and the menu buttons on show have more relevance for each pane of the panorama.

The Windows Phone Wordpress client is a great app for checking in and managing your block, but it still feels slightly awkward to write a full post on the app, especially if you have to handle extra fields and plug-ins on your Wordpress installation, but it can be done. And if you're working on short form blogs with quick posts, images, and thoughts, then you will find enough power in the app.

Personally I find it great for comment management, quick replies, and watching the stats through a busy day of writing!
