Using the accelerometer and positioning sensors in your smartphone, Horizon Level will draw a horizontal line across the screen that is perfectly lined up with the horizon of the Earth. Line this up with the two notches at the edge of the screen, and you'll have a phone in perfect orientation, be it landscape or portrait orientation.
I can think of a lot of features that I would love to see in this application; the ability have a 'rule of three' grid instead of a single line and the ability to add check marks for other 'jaunty' angles are the first ones.
Nevertheless this is a well coded app, and shows the promise of the lens system being offered to developers. And while purists of the art of photography will talk about composition over-ruling something like 'line up the horizon' if it works for some people, then it works.
You can download your copy of Horizon Angle through the Windows Store.
