Social music player Rdio updated for Windows Phone 8

Published by at

One of the popular streaming music services, Rdio, has picked up yet another update on Windows Phone, adding in specific support for Windows Phone 8 for the first time. The cross-platform service has web based streaming clients, mobile apps, and dedicated desktop applications. Keeping up to date with Windows Phone 8 is good practice for Rdio, and a solid sign of support for Microsoft's platform.

From the directory listing:

Rdio is a social music service for Windows Phone and the web, and the best way to listen to unlimited, on-demand music everywhere with your friends, and no ads. New in version 3.14:

  • Windows Phone 8 compatibility.
  • Improved online streaming/playback.
  • Browse Recommendations.

Of course it would have been nicer to have the WP8 client available when the WP8 handsets were launched, but the client is here now. I wonder how long until the other streaming services release their updated clients (ahem, Spotify)?

You can pick up the update from the Windows Store on your handset, or via the AAWP App Directory.
