Samsung ATIV Odyssey goes on sale with Verizon

Published by at

Samsung's ATIV Odyssey, a handset currently exclusive to Verizon Wireless, is now on sale for US customers. The handset supports microSD cards, has a removable 2100 mAh battery, a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, and 8GB of internal storage.

In store the subsidised handset will cost $99, with an obligatory two year contract. If you order online, there is a further discount available taking it to $49 dollars.

The heavily subsidised US market puts the Odyssey in a very similar price to other Windows Phone 8 handsets with a higher specification to this handset on other networks. It's also more expensive than Verizon's 820 variant, the Lumia 822.

But we're expecting the Samsung name and the echoes of the Galaxy range to help sales of this handset, as well as the 4G LTE support.
