Spider offers solid implementation of single-player card game

Published by at

Spider is a free, ad-supported, version of one of the most popular members of the Patience (Soliatire) card game family. As with all entries in this genre, the aim of this single player game is to place cards down in a number of stacks in a specific order (King to Ace in this case). Spider is one of the versions of Solitaire that shipped with versions of Microsoft's Windows from ME onwards, and is therefore already familiar to millions of people. This Windows Phone version lets you play both the two deck version (Spider)  and the one deck card variant (usually known as Spiderette).

Blugri Software has already released a version of classic Solitaire game for Windows Phone. The same game engine is used in this variant, with support for multiple difficulty levels, detailed statistics, and unlimited undos. As you might expect there's not a great deal of complexity here, but the eye-pleasing graphics, sensible game layout, and the intuitive game interface are all well thought out.

The ubiquity of Patience style games can evoke mixed reactions... it's a bit like Marmite... you either love them... or you hate them. If you're in the former category then Blugri's Windows Phone Spider implementation is a good way to get your fix on the move.
