Artist Lockscreen is an app that sets album art and other images, from your favourite music artists, as the wallpaper on the lockscreen of your Windows Phone 8 device. When multiple artists are selected, or multiple images are available, the app will automatically rotate between the different images. To set up Artist Lockscreen users must select one or more artists from which to draw images. This is done by searching for the artist and adding them to the rotation list. 

An alternative to Artist Lockscreen is Music Wallpaper, which takes a similar approach, but, rather than using a single image as the lockscreen wallpaper, creates an eye-catching collage from the images. In both cases you end up with an automatically updating lockscreen wallpaper that is personalised to your music tastes.

Artist Lockscreen is also notable because the artist search and image retrieval is powered by the Nokia Music APIs. These APIs are a collection of web service and Windows Phone APIs that allow developers to offer elements from Nokia's Music service within the look & feel of your own application. There are a number of other Windows Phone app that are also using these APIs such as SongGame, MusicDB and PopQuiz.

Artist Lockscreen can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store. No trial is available and the app costs £0.79.
