LG not looking at new Windows Phone handsets in the immediate future

CNet's Roger Cheng is reporting that LG are not looking to Windows Phone for their handsets in the immediate future. LG have a long history with Windows Phone, but they've never been dedicated to a single operating system. Nevertheless, they will be a loss to the WP ecosystem.

LG's current leading handsets are Android powered, but they are also involved with Firefox OS, with hardware running the nascent operating system from Mozilla.

While LG's continued involvement would likely be dwarfed by contributions from Nokia and HTC, it's important that Microsoft's Windows Phone platform is pitched as a broad church where second and third tier manufacturers can have a successful range of handsets.
