MonsterUp Adventures goes free for the weekend

MonsterUp Adventures, the sequel to the popular MonsterUp, is being made free in the Windows Phone Store for the weekend (usual cost £1.79 / / €1.49 / $1.49) by publisher Karios Games. The game, which is a vertical-jumer-platformer in the style popularised by DoodleJump, is beautifully put together with graphics from Ilias Sounas and a soundtracj from Mariettea Fafouti. It's a worthy download for any Windows Phone device owner.

In the game the titular monsters jump "up" the screen from one platform to another collecting gems as they go. Most of the platforms are standard, but some spring surprises (both good and bad). In each level the ultimate aim is to reach the top of the level (as shown in a progress bar on the right hand side), while collecting a specified number of gems.

A themed story mode joins the 20 levels together and there are achievements to unlock and leaderboads to conquer. As you lay the game you'll come across new monsters, each of which have their own unique special powers, some of which will be very helpful in completing certain levels.
