3D Fighter Brotherhood of Violence packs a punch on WP8

Published by at

Brotherhood of Violence is a 3D fighter / beat-em-up game from realtech VR, the same publisher behind titles such as No Gravity and Iron Fist Boxing. The game's impressive graphics are powered by the company's own graphic engine, which it says is one of the most advanced on Windows Phone 8.

What's particularly notable about Brotherhood of Violence is that its has received its Windows Phone release at the same time as the iOS and Windows versions, and slightly ahead of Android and Mac OS versions. In part this might be attributable to the increasing number of Windows Phone users, but more realistically it's an example of the benefits of Windows Phone 8's more accessible architecture for game developers (support for game engines, and shared code with desktop Windows), when compared to it predecessors.

As you would expect from a game in this genre, there are plenty of fighting environments (30+), opponents (400) fighting styles (5) and characters (12) to choose from. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from, so the game should suit any expertise level, and the game is kept fresh with daily challenges (hitman, survival, and battle royal).

There are some quality issues with the game, and there's room for improvement in both the voice acting and game controls, but overall it's a decent title, which should provides plenty of entertainment to fans of fighting games.
