Gaana brings their musical streaming service to Windows Phone

Published by at

It's always nice to see another Internet service launch on Windows Phone, so let's welcome the Indian based Gaana.com to the platform. With the ability to share playlists, receive music recommendations, and share the music you discover on your social networks, Gaana allows users of the service to take it with them on their Microsoft powered smartphone. As Redmond's platform looks to build traction in India, it's important that services like Gaana that available on other mobile devices can be found on Windows Phone.

From the directory listing:

  • Make playlists or hear our favorite playlists, and sync them across the web and your phone.
  • Search from over 1 million songs for the one you love - whether it's English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, and much more!
  • Smart recommendations to listen to similar songs, artists, or albums.
  • Easily share your favorites with friends on Facebook, Twitter, or by email.

As much as Windows Phone needs to sell handsets, it's going to be far easier to sell handsets if they have the services that people use. That's why Nokia are courting Instagram in public, and that's why having services like Gaana come to Windows Phone important - especially as they already have Java, Android, and iOS versions.

You can download the client from the Windows Store.
