Temple Run update takes care of glitching sky issue

Following on from its initial release during GDC, Temple Run had a few issues, notably a missing Live Tile graphic and an issue with the sky texture not rendering correctly if a handset was using the 'light' theme set-up. The Live Tile issue was quickly cleared up, and this weekend's bug fix update has taken care of the sky issue.

There's something comforting when you see an app or game get a prompt bugfix update. It shows engagement from the developers, and pride in their work. And I wonder if that engagement makes Temple Run 2 more or less likely on Windows Phone in the near future?

Anyway, right now we do have Temple Run, and when we reviewed it, we found a popular game that has successfully made the jump to Windows Phone:

Temple Run is all about smooth graphics. You will be swiping to the sides to turn corners, up to jump, and down to slide, a lot. These are picked up without any slow-down in the on screen action, and while many people are complaining about swipes being missed in the Windows Store review, I feel I'm making just as many misses on Windows Phone as I do when playing on my iPad...

Temple Run has proven its model and popularity on other platforms. All it needed to do in the transition to Windows Phone was to not do anything silly, and simply do a one for one port. I'm glad to say they've managed it.

You can download Temple Run for free from the Windows Store.
