If you look hard enough you'll always be able to find a good trivia quiz game on a platform... but for a simple collection of fun facts to make you go 'ooh', you might want to look at Trivia Buff.

This is simply the trivia, with nothing getting in the way of the facts. The list is updated regularly, and you can tag your favourite trivia facts in the app so you can pick them up at a later date after the app has updated with newer trivial points.

The app also links out to source material (which is commonly Wikipedia, but then everything there has their own citations to help) so you can do some more exploring on anything find really interesting.

The real strength for me is the live tile, and specifically the double-width live tile on Windows 8. I've tucked it away at the bottom of my tiles, and when I do bounce down to it, there's another little trivia nugget to help me through the day.
