LUMIA Pusher provides easy manual access to Nokia system app updates

Published by at

LUMIA Pusher is a helpful utility app that makes it easier to download updates for Nokia specific system apps, such as those found in Windows Phone's Setting app (e.g. extras+info and network+), and some of the Nokia apps pre-loaded on Lumia devices (e.g. Transfer my Data). The app provides a list of these apps with shortcut linking to their entries in the Windows Phone Store app, from where any updates can be downloaded.

This is useful because most of these apps do not appear in the app listings in the Store app, making it difficult to manually look for an update. Strictly speaking the app is unnecessary as the built in Store app will automatically you to updates for these apps. However, this automatic alert system generally lags behind the actual appearance of an app by up to 24 hours. This makes LUMIA Pusher a useful app for those who want to get their hands on app updates as quickly as possible.

Moreover, some users have reported that updates can get "stuck" and they are not notified about the availability of an update. In this instance LUMIA Pusher provides a way to manually check for and, if necessary, download an update.

The apps accessible via LUMIA Pusher can also be accessed via a direct URL (such as those we provide when we write about such updates) without the need for LUMIA Pusher, but the app does have the advantage of collecting all these links in a single location.

Windows Phone Store description:

Manual updating system programs Nokia smartphones Lumia 520, 620, 720, 820, 920.

The program uses only well-known direct url-links of the update system Nokia applications in the Windows Phone Store, not available during the search.

LUMIA Pusher can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store for free. It is intended for use with Nokia's Windows Phone 8 devices.
