Nokia Lumia 928 advert spotted on a billboard

My Nokia Blog has a user submitted photo that show a billboard advertising the yet to be announced Nokia Lumia 928. While the photo in question could be fake, there's little obvious evidence of manipulation, and there has certainly be plenty of supporting rumours pointing to the imminent announcement of a new Nokia Lumia phone.

The billboard poster shows a device similar in style to the Nokia Lumia 920, with the addition of a Xenon flash on the rear of the device, in line with other rumours and leaked pictures. The Nokia Lumia 928 is thought to be the much trailer Nokia Lumia flagship for US operator Verizon, which is backed up by the presence of the Verizon logo on the billboard poster. A global version of the device is also expected to be made available, with the most likely announcement date for both devices being the 14th May.

It is unusual for a billboard poster to be put up for a phone that has yest to be announced, but at the same time it is an unheard of occurrence. Advertising campaigns are booked a long time in advance and it's possible there's been a small delay in the announcement of the device. Alternatively a mist may have been made in putting up the post earlier than was intended.

Until the official announcement the Nokia Lumia 928 should still be considered as unconfirmed, but it is also fair to say it qualifies for the almost-certainly-going-to-happen label too.
