Skype update for Windows Phone 8 improves call notification reliability

An updated version of Skype for Windows Phone 8 is now available from the Windows Phone Store. The new version (2.6), like the previous update, is minor, but does include improved reliability for the chat, call notification, and calling to phone number features. The update also fixes an issue that could cause some messages to be absent from the recent conversations list.

The Skype team have also updated their list of known issues with the app, which shows there's still work to be done in optimising the Skype experience on Windows Phone. Among the known issues that Microsoft are hoping to fix in a future release are problems with the multi-device user scenario (e.g. calls keep ringing if a call is answered on another devices, and reading a message on Windows Phone doesn't mark it as read on other devices).

The Skype team also note that they have been listening to user feedback, which they say is used to help define future product releases:
