Microsoft's weekly app discounting initiative, Red Stripe Deals, is now in its sixth week. This weeks offerings include Xbox Live title Super Monkey Ball 2 (monkey rolling madness), Hockey Nations PP (ice hockey game), and gleek for WP7 and WP8 (third party Twitter client). Super Monkey Ball 2 and gleek are on offer at £0.79, while Hockey Nations PP is available for £1.49.

Of these titles we'd suggest taking a closer look at both gleek and Super Monkey Ball 2. The former is a very full featured Twitter client that is popular with power users, while the latter is the Windows Phone version of an evergreen gaming series. Hockey Nations PP is a good game too, but may have less appeal outside the ice hockey mad nations of the world.

Super Monkey Ball 2 is a worthy sequel - it takes everything that was good about the first Super Monkey Ball game, and then improves everything a little bit to make for a better title. It adds to the value in the mini games, and it provides not only a bigger challenge, but a lot more fun than the first version on Xbox Live. It's perhaps not quite to my taste, but a lot of people love it and the demo version is generous enough to give you a good run at finding out if it's the game for you.
