May the Windows Phone be with you

It's a great big universe out there in the fictional world of Star Wars. There may be three films of note (and another three prequels), but add in the novels, comics, cartoon series, and various other media outlets and the hardcore fan has a lot to remember. Very few people can hold all of that information in their heads, which is where the Star Wars Almanac comes in.

Put together by Silver Dollar Software, the app has four major sections to explore - people, vehicles, races, and planets - along with some interesting filters on the panorama screen to help you explore the Almanac. 'Recently updated' and 'most popular' have a constantly changing line-up every time you open the app, and will likely be the most useful, but if you're looking to browse through the Almanac, then the 'Seldom seen' section is a fun destination.

You also have a video section which takes you to notable Star Wars videos on YouTube.

Each almanac entry goes into detail about each subject, along with useful attributes, sound samples (which can be played back, but I would love to see a 'use as ringtone' option here), individual videos, and photos.

The ad-supported title can be downloaded for free from the Windows Store.
