Metrotube picks up a small update ahead of the Build Conference

Ahead of their attendance at the Microsoft Build conference, Lazyworm have taken the opportunity to update all their applications, including the well respected YouTube client for Windows Phone, Metrotube.

The update covers three main areas:

  • Ability to copy direct video link (for sharing)
  • Developers can now access 'Search' via URI schema (http://lazywormapps.com/metrotube-uri-schema.html)
  • Video playback fixes

MetroTube  MetroTube

While Microsoft and Google continue to do their merry little dance over an official YouTube client on Windows Phone 8, Lazyworm's app is one of the best clients out there. In my opinion it's the current 'best of breed' on Windows Phone 8 if you use YouTube for more than the occasional video.

The addition of a URI scheme by MetroTube allows other developers to use MetroTube to show videos, so the addition of 'search' as an option is welcome, and it will be interesting to see which apps start to use these facilities.
