Toast another corporate win for Windows Phone with Britvic

Published by at

UK soft drinks company Britvic Soft Drinks is ditching the corporate BlackBerry, and switching to Windows Phone, the company reports today. In a high profile deal with Nokia, the employees will trade up their current BlackBerrys for a Nokia Lumia.

The package will see the rollout of 800 Nokia Lumia 720 smartphones across the company. It appears from the press release that a key befeit is the integration not just with email, but also PIM features on Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, and Windows Phone's Office client.

Britvic's John Armstrong:

We were looking for a business smartphone that could easily integrate with our existing Microsoft infrastructure. Nokia Lumia and the Windows Phone fit the bill perfectly, allowing our people to do much more than just check their email and make calls. The training Nokia offered our staff has meant they were quickly up and running with the devices, and Windows Phone 8 gives a consistent interface which is simpler to support.

In the grand scheme of counting devices towards market share, 800 devices will not significantly move the needle. But mindshare is a different story. Britvic is a known name, and many other companies will take notice of this decision. Nokia are making sure the word gets out as well, with their own press release.

There might be a secret lemonade drinker, but their smartphone user is out, loud, and proud.
